Job Summary

ORF America is seeking a full-time Fellow to conduct research and manage programs on international relations and security. The position would be full-time and based in Washington DC. The fellow would be expected to conduct research and analysis of relevance to international relations and security with a particular emphasis on U.S. foreign and security policy as it relates to India, Asia, the Indo-Pacific, or global affairs. They would oversee relevant programs in India and abroad, manage non-resident fellows and interns, manage grants, and offer expert commentary. The position would report to the Executive Director.

Qualifications

  1. A professional or academic background in international relations or security. Prior experience in government is preferred but not required.

  2. A Ph.D. in a related field of study or a Master’s degree with a strong record of academic or policy publications.

  3. Eligibility to work in the United States.

  4. Excellent writing skills in English.

  5. Strong qualitative and/or quantitative research skills. Candidates should ideally be able to conduct primary source research, employ quantitative data, and derive insightful analysis.

  6. Strong multitasking abilities to pursue concurrent activities, work with colleagues, and oversee research assistants and interns.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Conducting research on contemporary international relations and security.

  • Authoring both short- and long-form research reports and commentary on relevant subjects.

  • Managing policy dialogues in conjunction with colleagues.

  • Writing grant proposals and funder reports, and managing relations with partners.
